YOUTH DEVELOPMENT ACCESS
BAER promotes access to experiences that help young people discover their identity, develop their gifts, and grow in purpose—across learning, mentorship, arts, sports, and enrichment.
A BROADER VIEW OF ACCESS
A young person may be ready for a meaningful experience and still face barriers to participating. BAER’s mission is to expand access to high quality opportunities that support their growth.
Opportunities can span learning, mentorship, arts, sports, and enrichment. The focus is the quality of the experience and how it helps a young person develop.

Our focus: opportunities that help young people develop their identity, gifts, and purpose.
START WITH THE YOUNG PERSON
01
Tell us about a program, learning experience, or area of interest that supports a young person’s development.
02
A brief description of the participation barrier helps start the conversation. You do not need to share financial records or sensitive personal information in an initial inquiry.
03
Connect with BAER about the opportunity, relevant requirements, and any available support. Any assistance depends on the opportunity, applicable criteria, and available resources.
ACCESS WITH PURPOSE
Learning can reveal a new interest. Mentorship can build confidence. Creative expression can uncover a gift. Sports and enrichment can create meaningful experiences of teamwork, responsibility, and growth.
BAER’s mission brings these possibilities together through a shared purpose: expanding access to high quality youth development opportunities.
FOR YOUNG PEOPLE, FAMILIES & PARTNERS
Have an opportunity in mind or a question about access? Start with the program or experience, who it would benefit, and what would help make participation possible.
For language assistance, an accommodation, or another way to connect, contact the BAER assistance team.
High quality youth development opportunities can take many forms, including education, mentorship, arts, sports, leadership, and enrichment. The connection to identity, gifts, purpose, and meaningful growth is what matters.
The foundation’s mission does not define one universal age cutoff. Specific programs or opportunities may have their own participation requirements.
Young people, families, caregivers, and community partners are welcome to start a conversation about access.
No. An inquiry begins a conversation. Any assistance depends on the opportunity, applicable criteria, and available resources.
